Extension of Minnesota “Stay at Home” Order Posted on April 30th, 2020 by

TO: Gustavus Employees
FROM: President Bergman
SUBJECT: Extension of Minnesota “Stay at Home” Order
DATE: April 30, 2020

As you may have heard, Governor Tim Walz announced this afternoon that Minnesota’s “Stay at Home” order will be extended for at least two more weeks (until May 18).

The College is continuing to require that all employees work from home except for those whose roles are required to fulfill the College’s limited on-campus operations, as requested by your supervisor or divisional vice president. If you have any questions, please contact your supervisor or the Office of Human Resources (staff), or your department chair or the Office of the Provost (faculty).

I know that many of you are eager to return to your offices and on-campus work, while others may prefer to continue working from home for a variety of reasons. Please know that College leadership is planning for a staged re-opening of offices and buildings when appropriate (in accordance with Minnesota Department of Health and Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development guidelines). This planning will take into account employee concerns as well as the needs of the College. As always, we will prioritize the safety and wellbeing of all members of the Gustavus community.

I continue to be impressed by the creativity, compassion, and commitment that you have demonstrated throughout this situation. Let us stay the course and continue to be good role models for our friends and neighbors in Minnesota.

Yours in community,

President Bergman
