SUBJECT: COVID-19 Weekly Update

DATE: January 19, 2021
Please see below for the COVID-19 weekly tip and on-campus case update.
Effective next week (January 26, 2021), updated Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) regulations will require “all air passengers arriving to the US from a foreign country to get tested for COVID-19 infection no more than 3 days before their flight departs and to provide proof of the negative result or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19 to the airline before boarding the flight.” Staff from the Gustavus Center for International and Cultural Education (CICE) have reached out to international students. Faculty/staff who are currently outside the country are encouraged to contact if they have any questions.
As a reminder, the Gustavus COVID-19 travel policy currently prohibits College-sponsored travel with the exception of essential travel that has prior approval from a member of the President’s Cabinet. Further, all Gustavus students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to limit their personal (non-College sponsored) travel as much as possible to help stop the spread of COVID-19. The full Gustavus COVID-19 travel policy is available online.

This data set is meant to encompass the on-campus impact of COVID-19 by counting cases where a person may have been on campus while infectious. For example, students who are living at home or employees who are working remotely and not visiting campus will not be counted in these on-campus numbers. This information is also available for viewing on the College’s COVID-19 Dashboard.
As always, if you have any questions, please consult the College’s COVID-19 website and email
