SUBJECT: COVID-19 Weekly Update
During spring semester, student organization and departments are welcome to host in-person events that follow COVID safety protocols for the campus community. This is a shift in philosophy because the Minnesota Department of Health now supports organized events that follow COVID safety protocols and cases of COVID are currently lower in Minnesota and on campus. If COVID cases rise on campus, in-person events may again become more limited
-
All in-person events of 20 or more people must have an approved COVID safety plan.
-
During set-ups and tear down of events and at all times during the event, six (6) feet distancing must be maintained and face covering must be worn.
-
Food is not allowed at events because people have to remove masks to eat and it makes it more difficult to manage other COVID safety protocols.
-
Pre-packaged food may be distributed as people leave an event as long as guests continue to follow the COVID protocols.
-
Event planners who fail to observe COVID guidelines may lose the privilege of having an in-person event until COVID safety restrictions are lifted.
-
If you are attending an event that is not following COVID safety protocols, please take a photo and submit the information online.
As of March 1, 2021
