SUBJECT: COVID-19 Weekly Update

DATE: March 30, 2021

WEEKLY TIP
Because Friday, April 2 is a College holiday and there are no classes, this will be the only COVID-19 weekly update and tip this week.
#1 – As vaccination availability continues to increase and all Minnesotans over the age of 16 are now eligible, members of the community are encouraged to visit the Gustavus Vaccine Resources webpage. At this time, students, faculty, and staff should consider signing up for a vaccine appointment through a pharmacy or government provider as we continue to wait to see if a mass vaccination event will occur on campus.
#2 – A vaccine myths and facts information session for members of the Gustavus community is scheduled for Friday, April 9, at 3 p.m. Gustavus Health Service Director Heather Dale and Minnesota Department of Health representative Cindy Jackson will lead a presentation and answer questions about the COVID-19 vaccines. Questions can be submitted in advance to g-covidresponse@gustavus.edu.
#3 – Due to changes in Minnesota Department of Health and Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference guidelines, protocols have been updated for Gustavus athletic teams that fall in low- and medium-risk sport categories. Some athletic teams are now testing more frequently and are allowed to remove masks during practice and competition per updated public health guidelines.
