TO: The Gustavus Community
FROM: COVID-19 Response Leadership Team
SUBJECT: COVID-19 Weekly Update
DATE: August 31, 2021
Every Tuesday, the Gustavus COVID-19 Response Leadership Team will send out a weekly update that includes tips and reminders, policy updates, and information about on-campus COVID-19 cases. These messages are sent to all students, faculty, and staff along with Gustavus parents who have an email address on file with the College.
WEEKLY TIP
#1 – Beginning on Wednesday, September 8, testing for COVID-19 will be available to members of the Gustavus community on Wednesday mornings from 8:30-10:30 a.m. These walk-in tests (no sign-up required) will take place on the second floor of Lund Center overlooking the basketball court. All members of the campus community are welcome to take advantage of these weekly open testing events. Reminder: weekly tests are required for unvaccinated students, faculty, and staff.
#2 – Members of the community are reminded that all students, faculty, and staff are required to wear a mask on campus while indoors until September 20. This temporary mask requirement is intended to help reduce the chance of COVID-19 transmission as our community comes together and adjusts to life on campus at the beginning of the academic year. Exceptions include students who are in their residence hall room with the door closed, employees who are working in an individual office with the door closed, and individuals who are seated and eating. The policy will be re-evaluated after the first two weeks of class and removed if on-campus transmission and case numbers stay low.
Please check the Gustavus COVID-19 website or email g-covidresponse@gustavus.edu if you have any questions.
