SUBJECT: COVID-19 Weekly Update
DATE: December 15, 2020
Please see below for the COVID-19 weekly tip and on-campus case update. This message will be the last weekly update of Fall Semester 2020; weekly messages will resume on Tuesday, January 5, 2021.
WEEKLY TIP
#1: Our final mass testing event of the semester was held last Thursday, December 10. During that event, 365 people were tested and zero positives were reported by Vault Health and the Minnesota Department of Health. For the three on-campus mass testing events this fall, we conducted a total of 1,880 tests and received 23 positive results. Keep up the good work in 2021, Gusties!
#2: Students who are taking a class in January or those who have permission to live on campus for student employment or other approved activity should plan to move back to campus on Sunday, January 3. January Term will begin on Monday, January 4 and most courses will be delivered virtually for the first week of the term due to the increased COVID-19 risk of students being away and then coming back together. Courses that have a disciplinary need to meet in-person from January 4 through 8 have been granted an exemption and students will be hearing from their faculty if their course will be meeting in-person during the first week of January Term. Beginning on January 11, we expect that courses will be delivered in online, hybrid, and in-person formats as indicated by the instructor. If you have questions about returning to campus, please contact the Office of Residential Life to discuss your personal circumstances.
