Message to Students Posted on March 25th, 2020 by

Dear Students,

As you have likely heard, the Governor has issued a “Stay at Home” order beginning on Friday, March 27, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. and extending until Friday, April 10 at 5 p.m. For us on campus, that means that additional employees will move to remote work and Lund Center will close to all students and employees.

Students who have been granted permission to continue to live on campus will have access to the MarketPlace, the Evelyn Young Dining Room, the C. Charles Jackson Campus Center and their residence hall/apartment. We must insist that students who are not living on campus, including those who are living locally in the St. Peter area, refrain from coming to campus.

As I shared in a previous email, if the COVID-19 situation is causing financial hardship, students are encouraged to contact the Dean of Students Office (dos@gustavus.edu) to discuss options and resources available to you.

Residential Life continues to work on a comprehensive plan for a coordinated move-out. Students who have an emergency-related need to access their room should communicate directly with Residential Life (reslife@gustavus.edu) to coordinate before the “Stay at Home” order takes effect.

Even though administrative offices and faculty departments will not be open on campus through April 10, we are still available to support you. Please do not hesitate to reach out via email, Google hangout or phone to let us know your concerns and questions and to tell us how we can assist you remotely. Watch your email for information from Student Life offices and others about things you can do on-line to stay connected and engaged!

Stay safe, Gusties!

Sincerely,

JoNes
